And I paid for the .com.
When I started this journey I had no idea what was going to happen. I was pretty sure I was going to end up houseless, and just continue to fall through the cracks.
If it hadn’t been for Nada Chehade, I probably wouldn’t be here today. She was the anchor I needed to stay calm when everything around me was chaotic and crazy.
She showed me what true friendship was because even though she couldn’t be with me physically, she was with me emotionally in ways I didn’t know I was allowed to ask for.
Just when I thought I could settle in and focus on my own mental health, the world went to shit, literally overnight, and now everyone and all the things are at war.
There are huge battles like what is happening in Ukraine and Gaza, Sudan, and The Congo.
Then there are the smaller battles that are happening on the community level with internet trolls, Christian Warriors of Christ, and everyone else who just wants to live and let live.
Part of me wants to spend the rest of my life reminding people that Christ’s mission on this planet was to bring folks together, not to tear them a part. I don’t believe that Jesus believed in the 1 God theory. I believe that was a making up of man’s decision.
I believe there are many ancient ones who can and should be considered Gods and Goddesses. From all over the world there are stories of ordinary humans who are doing or have done extraordinary things, and I believe that I can be one of those people.
I believe that at the very least, people like you and I deserve to be extraordinary, and since I have the time and space to heal, it very much feels like this time is now.
Everything is different now. I’m in a literally different place than when I started this website, which is the result I hoped for – even if I am not overly thrilled about how I got here – I’m in a beautiful place of healing.
And I’m more and more curious about the audience reading these pages. Last year in November I held a book party for my workbook, and my friends and supporters actually showed up to be with me.
It was an amazing experience, and I am looking forward to doing it again this year. This will be the first year I’ve been able to host a major event for LMBG, to promote positive mental health and the stages of the mental health journey.
I couldn’t give up on this website if I tried because I know that I have the capability to do a lot of good under this umbrella, I just need the time and space to get that good done.
I hope you’ll continue to follow me over the next year as I reach for the stars,
Sending all my love,
Devon J Hall
