It’s hard to describe how this much means to me. It means a lot. Let me start there. One of my favorite creators of all time was Joss Whedon, which is vastly ironic when you consider that this entire blog is written from the perspective of someone who was deeply abused by the men in their lives.

I’ve lived a long life. And in that time, I’ve seen many of my heroes fall. I’ve seen Joss Whedon, Harvey Weinstein, Cosby, Kelly, and so many others that I grew up being wary of, fall flat on their faces after their victims came forward. It’s been difficult to watch.

Since I started this blog, at least one of my rapists was charged, arrested, and convicted of rape crimes. He will face 125 years in prison.

That’s powerful. It took a lot of years and dozens of women to come forward, but I hope that the investigations in Canada will eventually lead to more charges and more jail time.

I don’t have high hopes. I’ve come to realize that Canada does not favor women and girls. This country never has and never will.

In the time I’ve been alive, Canada has had one Prime Minister who was a woman. In Canada’s entire history, there has only ever been one woman to hold that esteemed position. We need more. Kim Campbell didn’t make it past the general election because the men in this country aren’t ready for a woman to lead.

Women, however, are desperate for more female leadership. In this post, I would like to make space for all the girls who practice their leadership skills in debate clubs, science clubs, athletic clubs, match clubs, and educational programs worldwide.

You are the future of this world. Long after the last couple of men have murdered each other in a quest for eternal legacy, women will be what’s left over, and we will provide the kind of planet our children deserve.

Women have suffered enough at the hands of men, so today, on post 1,101, I want to remind all girls that they matter more than they know.

Right now there are missing and murdered Indigenous women out there who are desperate to be found. Meanwhile the Government of this country continues to pretend they do not exist.

You know what you need to do.

Sending all my love,
