I’ve referenced the letters before, but they seem to have more importance today. In Texas, women can’t get an abortion, even if they are raped, even if that rapist is a family member. The only way for a woman to get an abortion is if they might die, and that’s really no guarantee that should they get one, they’ll survive explaining why they had to go through one in the first place, which is nothing short of horrific.
So! I decided, with my own free choice, that I was going to post some of the letters on the site. I figured that it was important that women – and young men in particular – understand that love comes in a variety of forms, and never once does love hurt in the kind of way that you should be humiliated for surviving shit you shouldn’t have to survive in the first place.
