Holy fuck. This January marks 6 years of Loud Mouth Brow Girl. Six Fucking Years. Holy, Shit. This blog has seen me through everything from bad periods to horrible nightmares brought on by rape dreams and trauma nightmares. I’m still fucking here.
I can’t quite see the future the way that I used to be able to imagine it, so focusing on where I want to go is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I still know I am going to end up somewhere fabulous. I wanted to tell you about some of the different magazines that I’ve been writing for, all of my content is free, so you don’t need to worry about paying to read my work. However, if you want to donate I’d love that because the .com bill is coming up soon.

Writers and Editors of Color is a writing group that I am a part of that encourages writers and editors of color to work together, and through collaboration, we’re able to tell in-depth stories about what is happening in the world. Some of the most notorious members are Bumpy Jay, Allison Wiltz, Savannah Worley, Nada Chehade, and Dr. Mary Marshall to name a few.
I am humbled and honored by this group with everything they post because they work so hard on making sure that their work is obtainable to as many readers as possible. Click the image to visit the site.

Cultured is a great magazine about what’s going on in a variety of different cultures and it’s our way of sharing our stories written by folks of color, for folks of color. You can check it out by clicking the image.

Somewhat Sinful is a place for me and my friend Demeter Delune to write about sex, she writes and focuses mostly on writing about sex toys, and I focus more on writing about how I feel about sex after trauma. My writing here is raw and a lot more exposed than it is here.

And finally, Another Thing… is my way of adding onto thoughts that I don’t finish here. You’ll find a lot more politics, a lot more personal essays about how I see the world and where I want to go, and a lot more focus on what’s happening in the world as opposed to the mental health stuff I’m doing here.
So as you can see I’m making strides, I am getting somewhere, but I am not sure where, but I am also not overly worried…that’s a lie I’m fucking terrified, but I am trying to put on a good “I can do this” act so that people don’t see that inside I’m crumbling a part out of too many years of struggle. But I am also hopeful for the future, that this year is going to be the year I start making real money through writing. So fingers crossed, prayers up, and all that jazz.
Sending all my love,
Devon J Hall
