With the event just two days away I am becoming increasingly nervous. I think this is because this year we’re using the event to highlight Surrey Women’s Center, which holds a special place in my heart as a place I went to more than once for sanctuary.
This year I’m thinking ahead about things that could go wrong, I have a great team willing to help me out, and I’m not alone, so that makes it much, much, easier for me to relax and actually sit back and enjoy the conversation.
First of all, grab your free tickets today!!
I’m super excited about it but I’m also really nervous because this is me being a professional, but also a leader, and I’m not used to that. It’s been a very long time since I’ve created a program, or been in charge of other people. And so I just really want the event to go well.
Instead of thinking about how badly I felt at the end of last year’s event, I am focusing on the fact that I am surrounded by people who love me, who really want to share their experiences to help others, and I am excited to learn from the people that are coming.
This is an opportunity, and it’s also a gift from my friends and allies, to all the people who are out there feeling like their lives are unimportant, because they are dealing with mental health issues. If you choose not to join the chat you’ll be able to see it on Youtube in the coming weeks. I am excited for y’all to see it.
Sending all my love,
Devon J Hall
