Hoodies For The Homeless

At the beginning of the year I announced that I was going to spend every penny I made from my writing on buying hoodies, and donating them to people who are homeless.

Around May I decided that I wanted to save up some money for Trauma counselling, which is why I wrote and am selling the book, Uncomfortable.

Recently a friend of mine said she wanted to help out with my work and donated two hundred and fifty dollars to my Hoodies for the Homeless Campaign and it started to feel a little less daunting than it did before. So I decided that I could do this. I decided I could raise five hundred dollars between now and October 31st, and I could use that money to buy hoodies.

It’s important to me to give back to the Homeless community, because I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them. I got my career in advocacy started by working with those who didn’t have a conventional home to live in. I learned a lot from these gypsy people who travel from place to place just searching for anything resembling stability.

I understand that search because I’ve spent most of my life looking for stability, and so it’s important for me to be able to support them where and when I can.

If you would like to support this campaign you can donate directly here, or buy one of the hoodies that LMBG offers up here.

Money from book sales will still be going to trauma counselling, but funds from the clothing line will go to providing hoodies to Surrey Women’s Center to hand out to those in need this winter.

Sending all my love,

Devon J Hall
